consulting &
speaking about media + ethics

As a theorist of media and ethics, I have a passion for consulting and speaking for individuals and organizations about the capacity for media to shape our ethical sensibilities.

Most recently, for instance, I spoke with E.C. Timmer in a Masterclass for the Lake Stevens Film Festival called “Try Local: The Secret Power of Community Filmmaking,” in which we challenged the myth of the singular writer + director, considered the historical and contemporary possibility of local, collective community filmmaking instead.

Beyond the world of film, I am also interested, for example, in publicly addressing questions of AI and philosophies of language. What is the significance of human language? How is it similar to or different from computationally modeling? These are the kind of pressing questions that I might be interested in speaking about with your organization.
